Fred Sadek - artist bio:
"I grew up in the south in a family of very
mixed cultural backgrounds. In my school years I was interested in music,
math and science, and mostly entertained by sci-fi, comics, and other
escapist media. My love of comics
from my very early youth would re-assert itself much later and become manifest
in my fledling artistic endeavors.
As a relative newcomer to visual arts,
completely self taught in drawing, painting, and sculpting, my work
is often inspired by and draws from pop-culture, and usually has the
female form as its main subject.
I feel that I am moving towards a style that
will have elements of pin-up, cartoon, and realism.
At present, each piece is an experiment and learning experience, as I work
to find the balance
of these elements while also learning about using and controlling the physical
media."
